2005 Cadillac Deville
DeVille is said to be virtually unchanged for 2005. The Cadillac's biggest car
is the only front-wheel drive. Cadillac offers base and DHS models with a front
bench seat and the sportier DTS with front buckets. The DTS has 290 horsepower,
down 10 from the year 2004, while others have 275 horsepower. However the Traction
control and ABS are standard for all. DTS includes an antiskid system that's available
for other models. Load-leveling suspension and front side airbags are accessories
that provide head and torso protection. But the Rear side airbags are optional.
The Linewide options of Deville include satellite radio, a navigation system
with voice recognition and DVD playback with the transmission in Park, and Cadillac's
Night Vision system, that uses infrared technology to detect heat-generating objects.
All DeVilles come with GM OnStar and a tire-pressure monitor. Its DHS and the
DTS add heated or cooled front seats. Also add heated steering wheel and heated
rear seats, which are available for the base model. The overall interior design
of the DeVille's portrays European or Japanese competition. T he majority of the
controls are easy to interpret, and the build quality is good.
